Rogue Rage:  RWNJ Tells Us Why We Have PDS

In case you were wondering why you hate Sarah Palin so much, Fox News commentator and author Bernard Goldberg is happy to fill you and Bill O’Reilly in.

For those of you who cannot even begin to stomach watching this tripe, the money quote is here:

When she was still on the ticket a disease broke out in liberal America- Palin Derangement Syndrome. But I don’t think Bill that they detest her simply because she’s a conservative woman, a pro-Life, pro-gun conservative woman. I think there’s something else that’s working here. Here’s a woman that didn’t go to Harvard, Yale or Princeton. She bounced around at a bunch of colleges before she wound up at the University of Idaho which is practically a crime against humanity among liberal elites. She has 5 kids. Liberals don’t have 5 kids. One of them has Down Syndrome, liberals certainly don’t allow that to happen… They detested her Bill, they detested her because she was so ordinary. Because she was like a Middle America. And you know what? The liberals and the lamestream media, that’s who they really detest.

I don’t know about you all, but I fill my days with hating on large families, Down’s Syndrome babies and Middle America.  I’m a liberal, elitist snob and horrified that Bernie called me out.

I’ll merely second Jon Stewart’s response to this alleged human.

I have four kids and I live in middle America.  Does that make me a self-hating liberal?

You must not live in the real part of Real America, marindenver.  You know, like how Austin is the queer terrorist enclave in the otherwise real and patriotic Republic of Texas.

As for the four kids, you’ve probably adopted them from around the world like all those Hollywood types.  They’re probably even multi-ethnic.

Yes, I believe he said, “Fuck Off”.

Do you know who else the liberals detest?

Lying, hypocritical, piece of shit garbage like the loudest conservatives these days.

Anyone who compares ordinary people to Sarah Palin really hates ordinary people.

But I’m loving the fact Faux News loves this woman. Please, Mr. Ailes, give her a show.

Look, it’s simple—we despise her because she despises us.  She made that clear in every speech she’s given since she got the VP nomination, starting with the convention speech.

Exactly right.

I don’t despise Palin, but there’s no way I want an unstable, self-centered neocon shill near the reins of power, and I deeply resent her being allowed to whip up murderous rage with impunity and pollute political discourse without ever having to admit to being wrong, lying, or having any responsibility for the consequences of her actions.

I’m closer to despising McCain for foolishly, weakly, and cynically giving her the springboard for all this hoopla

The woman has the intellectual heft of an orange traffic cone, yet we’re supposed to take her seriously. This is why the GOP is imploding.

Been there, done that.  At some point I had a modicum of respect for the man.  He blew it with that shit.

The “X Derangement Syndrome” formula is a winger-developed meme that was originally used to trivialize opposition to the Bush/Cheney neocon agenda.

It’s a handy bit of rhetorical jiu-jitsu that casts honest criticism of outrageous policies or indefensibly moronic and dangerous candidates as a pathological condition, rooted in infantile emotions.

I was chagrined to see it adopted by the Pumatoids to dismiss any and all objections to Hillary Clinton during the 2008 primary. By doing so, they simultaneously framed Clinton as a “victim,” while creating a weird Hillary-Dubya resonance that further alienated the left.

You might as well say that the PUMAs suffer from “Rape Derangement Syndrome,” or that soldiers returning from war zones with PTSD are victims of “Killing-and-Being-Killed Derangement Syndrome.”

Personally, I oppose Sarah Palin for the same reasons I avoid slamming my dick in a car door or sticking my face in a fan blade—and they are all eminently rational justifications.

Get a job, hippy!  And a hair cut!

Strange FTW!
