I gotta admit, this one really doesn’t bother me. It’s a bad pun, but even in the blinding light of the dog-whistling, this seems to be the most harmless thing they can shout.
Also Mr. Rump, I noted below that both your Warner links link back to your site and not Big Sizzle’s column.
The Barack Obama event I attended, no one was allowed to bring in signs. Security risk, you know.
The campaign handed out “Change” rally signs.
I understand that the McCain camp makes these “homemade” signs and hands them out to create the appearance of individual expression at their Nazi rallies.
Therefore, does it not follow that the “Osama bin Lyin” signs were actually made for the rally by the McCain campaign?
I think it’s the guy making the video that said it, just so he could put it on youtube. Either that or it’s a huge coincidence that the shouter was right next to the camera.
But Kevin, take heart. I spotted a black person in the crowd in the photo at the Daily Dish. Republicans aren’t racist after all!

Wouldn’t surprize me, Allan. I read a report on either the first debate or the VP one. Anyway, the reporter said that everyone had been told no signs allowed. Then at the end of the debate they go outside and there’s a heap of McCain/Painlin signs planted around the media area - official and “homemade” ones if I remember rightly.
Saw part of this interview on Countdown. McCain blinks like it’s going out of style, especially during the Ayers question. Definitely not a pokerface. Look at his eyes and try not to laugh.
Allan, I had the same experience at an Obama rally I attended a couple of months ago. You couldn’t bring signs with you. Also, I saw the same news clip about the “homemade” McCain-Palin signs.
Now, I guess someone could argue that these dolts snuck their “Obama bin Lyin” signs into the rally. But they were pretty big signs, and they didn’t look folded or creased on HDTV.
Whatever. It looks like this strategy is backfiring anyway, so if McCain wants to turn his rallies into hatefests, so be it.
