Take Bill-O—please!

O’Loofa threatens to go Galt if his taxes rise above 50%:

This is how the disciples of Saul Alinsky silence political dissent—by cruelly attempting to force multimillionaires to broadcast ignorant pontifications at cut-rate Clinton-era net-income levels and pauperizing Tea Party fast-food moguls. It’s a sad day for America when such outrages are proposed.

Adieu motherfucker.

Seriously, at least give us a taste of how miserable our lives will be when you withdraw your shriveled, scarcely functions even with a triple dose of Viagra, productivity from the market and piss off for a month.

I have a shovel and a bag of lime in my trunk. No one will miss you, trust me.

Agreed.  Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Perhaps we can provide further encouragement, such as hinting that other countries might be a lot less pissy about sexually harassing a hawt, young produceress.  It doesn’t matter if it’s true, just as long as he falls for it and buggers off.

“Is the country really entitled to half a person’s income” asks Billo?

Let’s fact-check this, shall we?

Why, yes, Billo, it is.  It’s called The Sixteenth Amendment to The Constitution.  To wit:

“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”

So I guess we have to reward you with this.

ETA Not to mention that nobody is proposing a 50% tax rate except Billo himself so WTF?

Promises, promises.

Ya know, I have to wonder if these overpaid mofo’s like Bill O’Luffa realize that the more they whine about paying more taxes, no matter how well they spin it as a tax on the most holy of holies - the Producers, it might just lead to a bit of cog-dis amongst the working class automatons who watch their shows.  Working class automaton” “hey, I don’t get no choice ‘bout how much tax I pay, why does O’Luffa get a choice?”

All it needs is a bit of a PSA theme-bomb like Patriots pay their Taxes, Looters cheat and hire fancy lawyers to avoid paying theirs; the American Eagle cries in shame”....

He’s such a tease, that Billy. I vote we make it 51% and label it the the O’Reilly bracket so he doesn’t accidentally miss it.

Perhaps we can provide further encouragement, such as hinting that other countries might be a lot less pissy about sexually harassing a hawt, young produceress.

We could tell him that it’s a job requirement in Italy.

Therein lies our only hope. For decades, the Republicans have been all about shoveling largess to the rich. All the crap about god, guns, gays, fetuses, foreigners, welfare queens, etc., was merely a diversion so that they could wage class war on behalf of the rich against the rest of us. And it worked like a charm for decades!

But maybe the jig is finally up—or reaching its conclusion, anyway. The day the GOP started painting teachers, cops and firemen as government teat-sucking parasites may have been the ultimate overreach. Hell, most of those people are WHITE!

Go the fuck Galt already!  And, marginal tax rates!  And, fuck off!

Oh, no! If we raise taxes, all the people who perform the essential task of screaming that we shouldn’t raise taxes will quit.

I agree with all of the comments here.

Go Galt already, you whining fake motherfuckers!

Enough of your idle threats and misleading crybaby nonsense about a “50%” tax threat that has nothing to do with reality and was never proposed.

No one will miss your sorry asses and your delusional egotistical and selfish sense of entitlement and self-importance.

You Koch-sucking fuckers mistake being the CLOG in the machinery with being a COG in the machinery. The world, the workforce and the economy will run much, much better without all of you.

50%?

I’m trying to figure out where he came up with that, why he would even propose that anyone would suggest a tax rate that high.

I got nothing. Except, maybe, paranoia.

Well, wasn’t the marginal tax rate at about 50 percent under their Great God Ronnie Reagan? Since they love All Things Bonzo, maybe we should remind them of that fact.

Well, wasn’t the marginal tax rate at about 50 percent under their Great God Ronnie Reagan?

Well, yes, but the trend was in the right direction - usually. Also, liberals.

Well, wasn’t the marginal tax rate at about 50 percent under their Great God Ronnie Reagan?

As I recall the top marginal bracket at that time was about 60%.  Don’t remember how high your income needed to be before you hit that though.  St. Ronnie then oversaw an overhaul of the tax code which became the Tax Code of 1986 under which we currently operate.  They originally cast it as “simplification” of the tax code and a “flat tax” but that spun out of control very quickly resulting in the beginning of the vastly cumbersome and ludicrously complex vehicle that we have today.*  The flat tax ended up as two brackets - 15% and 28% - but a 33% or thereabouts had to be added before long.  Under Clinton the top bracket eventually went up to 39.6% which Dubya then lowered to 35% where it is today.

*Mainly because the specter of raising tax rates is so hideous that instead they lower deductions by inserting graduated phase-outs on all kinds of things at all different levels to where it became literally impossible to prepare an accurate return without a computer and not so sure how accurate a lot of them are even with.
