“Take my pound of flesh and sleep well”

Did the man who crashed a small plane into an IRS office today leave an online manifesto - suicide note? I don’t know if it’s real, but this sounds genuine enough. It seems he had some problems with the IRS. Here’s an excerpt:

I know I’m hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand.  It has always been a myth that people have stopped dying for their freedom in this country, and it isn’t limited to the blacks, and poor immigrants.  I know there have been countless before me and there are sure to be as many after.  But I also know that by not adding my body to the count, I insure nothing will change.  I choose to not keep looking over my shoulder at “big brother” while he strips my carcass, I choose not to ignore what is going on all around me, I choose not to pretend that business as usual won’t continue; I have just had enough.

I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less.  I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are.  Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn’t so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer.  The cruel joke is that the really big chunks of shit at the top have known this all along and have been laughing, at and using this awareness against, fools like me all along.

I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different.  I am finally ready to stop this insanity.  Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.

The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.

The whole thing is here. That domain name is registered to the guy who has been identified as the pilot, so I guess it’s real.

UPDATE [from Kevin K.]: I grabbed a screencap in case the site goes down. You can view it here.

So let me get this straight, media:

Muslim-American shooting up a military base in Texas: TERRORISM

Anglo-American flying his plane into government offices in Texas:  NOT TERRORISM

WTF?

It’s been confirmed. Teabagger anti-tax nut.

But what’s up with quoting the ‘Communist Creed’ favorably?

From reading the suicide note, I don’t think the guy was a teabagger, though he was definitely an anti-tax nut. He sounds more like the pissed-off fat cat haters the firebaggers mistakenly think the teabaggers are.

Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn’t so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer.

I’m generally very sympathetic to the mind-state of a person who chooses to take their own life.  I don’t think we can really understand the level of agony or whatever it might be that a person experiences, which leads them to feel the only course for relief is to kill him/herself.

That said (and I mean this in a purely apolitical manner), the only proper response to someone who decides to take innocents down with them is:  Fuck you, you fucking fuck!  I suppose mental illness is mental illness, but still…

I’m sorry, but “Wahhh, taxes!” garners exactly zero fucking sympathy from me.  And, again, this isn’t about liberalism/conservatism or politcs - I’d be loathe to jump on a “aha, teabagger!” soap box over this particular situation.  And I wouldn’t consider this terrorism per se; obviously the guy was suffering some degree of mental imbalance, and maybe the IRS/taxes was his mind’s way of finding a “target” to help resolve whatever was tormenting him emotionally.

I’m probably not being very clear, so maybe I’ll just end with that for now.

But what’s up with quoting the ‘Communist Creed’ favorably?

Yeah, he came off pretty libertarian until that odd ending. Don’t know.

As best as I can tell from that word salad (note to self: check the IP trails for links to Sarah Palin’s Facebook author), it sounds as if the IRS has a long history with Mr. Stack, who seems to have aligned himself with some “declare yourself to be a church and pay no taxes!” scheme.

If only the Clinton administration had responded to the Oklahoma City bombing by rounding up all right-wing nutjobs into internment camps, stripping them of their civil liberties, torturing them until they gave up their own mommies as ringleaders, then holding mass public executions of the lot of them, this tragedy could have been averted.

Who will keep us safe from wingnut terrorists?

I’m sure there will be tremendous worldwide sympathy for some dude who owned his own business and airplane, and committed an act of violence because he owed taxes.

What a fucking asshole.

Prepare for additional damage from Wingtard heads exploding.

“He’s anti-tax and anti-Washington. But ... he’s anti-Capitalist ...”

KaBlooie!

Here’s hoping they run the OBAMA EMBOLDENS TERRISTS protocol before too many skulls become claymores.

How soon before Pat Buchanan calls for Mr. Stack’s wife and daughter to be dragged to Gitmo and waterboarded in case they have information about other potential attacks?

Oh hey, CNN seems to have latched on to the terrorism angle—or at least to have copped to its being an “attack.” They’ve got a nifty graphic and everything!

BC—Does CNN have the crash in 3D on the holodeck?

It can’t be terrorism - the DOW went up 83 points.

*runs*

Man, I’ve never watched CNN’s Rick Sanchez before except for a few YouTube clips. He is a really weird dude.

It can’t be terrorism - the DOW went up 83 points.

Just like Rahm Emanuel had planned.  Man, that guy has his fingers in everything.

Carefully dissect his story—he didn’t like the unfairness of the tax code, so he tried to cheat the IRS—using dodges he believes other organizations get away with.

He got caught, he lost his savings.  Boo Hoo.

Then the Government cut back on unnecessary costs (hooray) on account of which he lost his job.  (Tough titty.)  So he relocates to Austin, where he finds you get worked over by large organizations and don’t get a huge salary.
Boo Hoo number 2.

Then he signs an Income Tax declaration with his wife, not disclosing her under-the-table income.  He goes to a hearing of some kind, and the accountant to prepared the phony docs rolls on him.  Given his background as a deliberate tax fraud/cheater, he has to pay again. Boo Hoo number 3.

Then, during a recession, he starts a business and is not immediately successful.  (Though he’s successful enough to retain a private plane, which most of America can’t dream about buying.)
Boo Hoo number 4.

He’s mad at the IRS because he tried to cheat on his taxes and got caught.  He’s a failure as an engineer, a husband, and a tax cheat.

nurtz, I think you’ve summed it up best.

Just like Rahm Emanuel had planned.  Man, that guy has his fingers in everything.

Well, part of one finger in everything at Arby’s, anyway.

Man, I’ve never watched CNN’s Rick Sanchez before except for a few YouTube clips. He is a really weird dude.

Sanchez is weird.  One minute he is a sensible, dare I say progressive guy, then the next he sounds like he belongs on Faux…

Spot on assessment,  nurtz.  Spot on!

Who will save us from the terrorism of the Angry White Man? Should we start racial profiling or what?

The ringleader of the Angry White Men released a new video today, proving that he’s still alive despite our best counter-terror efforts, and showing surprising vigor for a man whose heart is a gnarled tumor of scar tissue, stents, and auto parts.  What’s more, his daughter introduced him.

He made his usual dire warnings of the great evil attacks he plans for the US and mocked President Obama’s efforts to undo the damage his terror has wrought.

Fortunately, I hear that international tribunals are slowly moving to bring him to justice.  Good thing, since he’s presently reputed to be hanging out in the Confederate State of Virginia, which puts him beyond the reach of the US justice system for reasons I don’t quite understand.

Now this is in spirit of the REAL Boston tea party! Vio con Dios Amigo!

@Keith—That would be true had the original Tea Partiers set fire to their families, then blown up the Post Office because their jobs sucked and the mailman wouldn’t deliver letters with no stamps.

Depressed and stupid.

Apparently Stack’s problem with the IRS is that he didn’t want to have to pay taxes…
