I made it through 23 seconds before I’d had enough. But please remember, though it’s kind of hard these days: not all middle-aged white men are incoherent** ranting bigots.
—Phred, some of whose earliest memories involve being part of the civil rights movement in Florida in the early 1960s, and remembers segregated schools (up to the 3rd grade), token integration (4th grade, with two black kids in an otherwise white classroom), and full integration (5th grade, being bussed across town to an elementary school across from Lincoln High School*).
*Paraphrasing Malcom X: If you want to know where the black part of town is, just look for the school named after Lincoln.
**All right, so maybe I’m a bit incoherent, but I’m not a ranting bigot.
