The Day Herstory Got A Headache

Take a gander (har) at this all-male line-up of jollies assembled by Darrell Issa for his hearing on contraceptive coverage, which, Republicans are ludicrously insisting, has nothing to do with women per se, so why should any women testify? No, it’s all about religious freedom, which would seem to apply only to male church leaders and not their employees, male or female.

Meanwhile, watch Andrea Mitchell nearly swallow her tongue as Rick Santorum’s Mr. Moneybags, Foster Friess, slut-shames the majority of women in the nation who have made the choice to limit the size of their families: in his day, girls just put an aspirin between their knees!

Swell advice, Foster. In tribute, I’ve applied a little of your sauce to the ganders above, and see how well it’s working. You might want to consider holding an aspirin yourself~~between your lips.

There is a complete investigative series on Foster Friess here:

I can’t understand how any woman can be a Republican when the party so obviously disdains women and women’s issues.

“Defending our Religious Freedom” is the Rethugs new line for any odious thing they want to do.  At a CO legislative hearing yesterday on a proposal for a civil unions bill this exchange took place (via):

The bill was opposed by various religions organizations, including the Rev. Bill Carmody, representing the Colorado Catholic Conference.

“Do you think this bill is an erosion of religious freedom in this state?” asked Sen. Steve King, R-Grand Junction.

“Absolutely: That’s why we’re opposed to it,” Carmody said, adding that President Barack Obama “just reneged” on a promise to Catholics regarding the federal Affordable Care Act.

Yes, somehow allowing gay and lesbian couples to enjoy basic legal protections for themselves and their families intrudes on the rights of MFing Catholics to practice their religion!

On the positive side it shows that the Rethugs got nuthin if they’re really making this stupid argument now.

We’re li.ving in mad times.  However, if the Rethugs keep this up they will reap a veritable shitstorm.

Am I being obvious by stating that the Friess ZPG Method was made antique by science? Decades of research has shown that men, after they cut their balls off, infrequently reproduce. If we’re going to have a serious Friess-like national discussion on contraception, let’s not leave any options out.

“Defending our Religious Freedom” is the Rethugs new line for any odious thing they want to do.

They seem to think that Religious Freedom means allowing religious authorities to force their morality on the general public, yet they claim to be against the imposition of Sharia law.

Freiss managed to hit a mysogynist’s trifecta by embodying patriarchal pigheadedness, pale penii-endowed condescention to all possessers of lady bits, and early 1950’s family planning Best Practices.  That he’s a rich hedge fund prick from Wyoming is just guilding the lily.

And can anyone tell me why almost every freak Republican thinks himself terribly charming? Just wondering.

“Mr. Friess, you and your wife only had 2 sons.  Did Mrs. Friess keep an aspirin between her knees?”

honestly, can these people be any more out of touch?

honestly, can these people be any more out of touch?

No.  SATSQ.  They have gone all out anti-lady bits, a winning strategy when 51% of the population of the US is female.  Good luck with that demographic.

It’s never pretty when a political party commits hara kiri, there’s always some mess and it’s best to step around it, keep moving and avoid getting any on you . . .

I think this runs on the same logic that gives moral authority to an international child molestation ring.

It makes sense SOMEWHERE, but hell if I can find it.
