The Price is Right, John.

Perennial Republican angry old white man, John Sununu, is, as usual, pissed. Doubling as an undercover DNC fact-checker, Sununu called out the First Lady, yesterday, on a conference call with reporters. Sununu has accused FLOTUS of lying about how much she spent on the Tracy Reese dress she wore to the Convention on Tuesday night.

According to the New York Times, the dress in question is a Tracy Reese original and will probably sell in the neighborhood of $400.00, based on similar dresses in the Tracy Reese collection.

Mrs. Obama has frequently worn dresses by Ms. Reese, a self-made businesswoman who happens to be African-American, which in fashion is a rare breakthrough. Ms. Reese’s prices are also in the middle ground. While the dress Mrs. Obama wore has not yet been produced, very similar styles from Ms. Reese cost $395 to $450, which fits perfectly with the Democratic pitch to the middle class.

FLOTUS’s pink pumps (case you’re wondering) were from J. Crew.

Also, according to the Times, Sununu’s miniature spectacles (photo above) are WalMart readers (+3.00) that go for $3.99, on sale, and his flash red tie, at $4.99, is from the J C Penney “Power Broker Collection” (bought before the One Million Mom’s boycott went into effect).

In concluding, I think that Democrats should interpret this pinhead’s ridiculous allegation as a sign that their convention was a reality based success, with few toeholds for Pants on Fire! accusers; in comparison to the Republicans’ marathon game of liar’s poker, last week.

Republicans continue their laser-like focus on the economy.

Republicans continue their laser-like focus on the economy.

A-yup.

BTW, Steve, I loved this post of yours this morning:

PUNDITS AGREE: OBAMA’S SPEECH LAST NIGHT DIDN’T BRING BACK THE ‘08 MAGIC—RIGHT?

Nicely done!

I think my takeaway from Bette’s story is that John Sununu thought Michelle looked like a million dollars, and I can’t argue with that.

Now maybe he can persuade Paul Ryan to find a suit that isn’t two sizes too big and makes him look like a kid on his first job interview. Then maybe we can argue about how much that cost.

Quibbling over how much Michelle’s dress cost is a sure sign that they got nuthin’.

Exactly.  It also brings up the contrast between Michelle’s dress, and the fact that Anne Rmoney spends that much on any pair of shoes she owns, but it isn’t enough $ to dress her ‘properly’.

Thanks, YA…

What’d Sununu spend on the rug?

I imagine Sununu
prefers a cheap muumuu
made from the drapes—
Meow! Sour grapes.

Oh Vixen, brava!!!
