Predictably, he’s taking the position that no one understands his “satire”. Asshole.

I disagree, Tom65.  I actually believe that he was trying to be satirical.  It wasn’t very funny, granted, but I believe he was joking, and I think we’re getting a little heavy-handed jumping all over this one, IMO.

Agree with JoeStork. His original post was played for laughs and wasn’t very good, but he’s enjoying himself by posting the updates. The proper response would be the morans picture or the one with hat made of teabags.

Satire was the original post. Six “updates” says he’s just being an asshole.

I’m giving this guy a pass (for now) and it has nothing to do with where I may or may not have gone to school.  I think it’s just lame snark (he is a lawyer so I wouldn’t expect witty snark)

I don’t know.  I just reread it again and I say it’s debatable that it was intended as satire. The Newsbuster link is what gives it away because he certainly wasn’t mocking them by including it. And Glenn Reynolds dismissed it as not being a scandal. I think Jacobson conveniently called it satire after the fact.

Well, the thing that makes it so disconcerting, if it is indeed satire, is that it would be an example of a conservative blogger rather mercilessly satirizing other conservative bloggers.

There’s a long tradtion of liberal self-satirization.  There is no equivalent tradition on the right that I know of.  The philosophical reasons for this, I think, are many and obvious.  So if this Jacobson guy is doing what I think he’s doing, he has committed a very transgressive act.

This isn’t satire, it’s too layered and obsessed with justifying his point. Which he is trying to correlate the to effetness the same way they did with Kerry.  Besides do remember, he knows that he is being visited by the left and wants to minimize our attacks.  And conservatives have never taken this issue as a joke.  And yes they are this desperate, in the midst of a president made of rubber and attacked by glue.
And yes Kevin the total lack of co-signage of his tomfoolery by his fellow bloggers was the knockout blow to serious updates.  I just feel bad for his regulars who had to pretend that this was “sarcasm”

Bad satire only begats worse satire/humor:

Ok, I just picked up the Washington Post’s Style section, where this story is on the front page.  Obama’s order of Dijon mustard is a bolded, enlarged quote.  Maybe they didn’t get the VLWC memo?

The Left is just keeping this ‘Mustard story’  alive, the Right had a chuckle and moved on.  There are many much more important things to criticize this administration about.  The Left doesn’t want people focusing on the big stuff, because that’s where it’s most dangerous to them.  The Truth will bring them down, God willing.
