This is NOT a cat!

This dog weighs nearly 50 pounds, but she likes to perch atop the sofa like a cat. What a disgrace to her noble species.

Pffffffft my boxers do that all the time. She is with friends.
Your boxers do that too? Maybe mine isn’t such a weirdo after all! I’ve never seen a big dog drape herself across furniture the way this one does. All of my boxers have believed they’re lap dogs. But the cat-like furniture perching is unique to this one so far.
I used to babysit for a family that had a boxer—he was never happy unless he was RIGHT ON MY LAP or right behind my head on the couch. So based on that very teeny sample, I’d say it’s typical boxer behavior.
My parents have two dogs (a cairn terrier and a miniature dachshund) who both do that. It’s a good spot if you want to keep an eye on things.
My parents have a dog that does the same thing! The working theory is that she has a better view out the window from there, but they’ll have to hear about this.
Gosh, Betty, the poor thing looks ashamed and embarrassed! It’s not like you caught her with her paws in the dog cookie jar.
Our dog just went through a bizarre problem with not being able to WALK ON THE FLOOR. She refused to navigate the hardwood floors she has known all her life. To get to the front door, she would leap from couch to couch. We had to move her food and water dishes to the dining room so she didn’t get dehydrated; she refused to walk to the kitchen.
We finally worked with her with small carpet squares placed like stepping stones. She has finally started walking on the floor again like a sane dog.
They rule our world.
Who’sthegoodgirl who’stheprettygirl who’sthesweetiegirl ....
this pic has a certain Patty Hearst/SLA-hostage look to it.
My 150 lb Northern Innuit does it. Its crazy when you see big dogs do it! Most little ones love the height.
