Thwap!

Barack Obama just now during a rally in Elko, Nevada:

Yesterday John McCain actually said he’ll take on, and I quote, the old boys’ network in Washington.  I’m not making this up. This is somebody who’s been in congress for twenty-six years who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign.  That he’s the one who’s going to take on the old boys’ network. In the McCain campaign, that’s called a staff meeting.

Thwap!

BTW, I saw a whole lot of Obama “connecting” with the folks at this rally. I hate our stupid media.

UPDATE: Here’s the video [via TPM]...

That was a hell of a line, and one that the McCain camp is really going to struggle to respond to, though I’m sure Ms. Pfotenhauer will try mightily in about fifteen minutes.  Against David Shuster, natch.  Should be entertaining.

I’m so glad you got that quote - it was great!  I saw it on TV when he was giving the speech but had nothing nearby that I could write it down with and didn’t want to miss any of it either!

Meanwhile McCain is bumbling all over himself every time he tries to talk about the economy and has basically, in 48 hours, flipped and flopped on pretty much every position he used to hold.

I also love that Barack is hammering on McCain’s call for a commission to study the problem.  So, yeah, in 18 months to 2 years we can finally understand why the economy collapsed and, if anyone in the new 3rd world country of America cares, we’ll set up another commission to study how to fix it.

But where can I get an Obama wig and Obama glasses? And Obama high-heeled shoes? Has the Lord directly spoken to Obama, and if so, has he spoken in a language only decipherable by Obama, Kenyan witchhunters, and venomous snakes? And how many weddings has Obama presided over, and how many of them have been at a Wal-Mart (I would accept PriceChoppers or BJs as a substitution)? If Obama wants to win my vote, he better get on it.

Okay, okay, I’ll stop. I was just in a mood. For reals, there’s a great article on this topic at the American Prospect:

During the primary race, many counted Obama out, didn’t understand his campaign’s strategy, didn’t think he could keep himself in the race. Clinton adopted Obama’s change rhetoric and attacked him the same way McCain has—on experience and for his eloquence. But Obama and his team hewed to their strategy and pulled out the win. The senator from Illinois is known as a closer, and there is plenty of time left. Keep the faith.

Well maybe Obama lost the “support” of Lady Lynn de Ladida today but he won over an interesting new supporter as this new endorsement shows.

(BTW - I think Lady Lynn thinks that “elitist” is code for “uppity”.

marindenver—That is a great endorsement.  Thanks for posting the link.
