Two great moments on MSNBC yesterday that you may have missed

One thing that’s amazed me in this presidential campaign is how effective Republicans have been at explaining why they’re supporting Barack Obama (Colin Powell’s being the best endorsement I’ve heard coming from anyone this election cycle).  Add former Minnesota governor Arne Carlson to the list…

A “restrained and measured” Richard Wolffe eviscerates Sarah Palin over her ill-informed, rambling policy speech…

Slogan for 2012:  “Embrace your ignorance!  Vote Palin!”

I hate the far right’s kneejerk mockery of intelligence and research more than anything else, and that, my friends, is saying a lot.

The fruit-fly (Drosophila) line was just hilariously ignorant.  I do genetics for a living, and a huge amount of the data is gathered from Drosophila—they’re small, they reproduce quickly, and they share a lot of basic genes with humans.
