I didn’t enter my infinitely cuter pup in that same competition when I saw that the pet-loving Mr. Cole was backing Bitsy. Though I personally prefer blockier dogs, Bitsy has the more compelling back story. So done and done again.

Yeah, I think both you and Gil have some serious contenders. Hard to beat the firepower of Balloon Juice and Colbert, though.

I just fired up the version I used during last year’s Weblog awards. Little Bitsy should be out front by 10,000 votes before 6:00.

I was envisioning “booze yard gnomes” as yard gnomes that double as whiskey decanters, a.k.a, “the greatest invention ever.”

Oh, no no no! No scripts! She can win this legitimately, and the people running the competition have been dumping competitors for things like voting from multiple email addresses! Seriously, it’s a small prize this week, and a huge prize at the end, so they ARE going to verify votes. Don’t fuck with this dog’s chances.

(Her votes still look reasonable right now, so I hope you were kidding.)

Comrade Mary, it’s kind of an inside joke regarding the Weblog Awards last year: We were falsely accused of cheating by sore losers. But we didn’t cheat then, and we wouldn’t screw up Bitsy’s chances by cheating now, so rest easy.

gil - I remember the day he brought her home, all scared and hiding, looking at her now it is almost like looking at a different dog.  And last night when Tunch went missing, I was glad that I caught the thread after he came back, my heart about stopped.  Oh and I vote for Bitsy EVERY DAY!  So you people do too.
