Hey Humboldt, ya dumb fucking burnout, thanks for making me smile today. Brubeck was my Mom’s favorite.

Well done, my friend.

Reminds me of “Playing for Change” and the power of music to unite us all.

Despite squeezing your narrow ass out of her Mad Men era Vulva-matic 3000 we always suspected she was pretty damn cool.

Hey, ask Oblomova, my Mom was living at the Belden Stratford in the 1950’s kind of cool.

Reminds me of “Playing for Change” and the power of music to unite us all.

What is this—Dirty Dancing?

Music gives us strength to destroy our enemies. Peace. Out.

<i.WHIPPIN’ POST!!!!!</i>

No, seriously, I’d like to hear them cover “Whippin’ Post.”  Or any number of songs, really.

And maybe the tabla player can give me some exercises to build up my shift-key finger so I can avoid embarrassing HTML errors in the future.

Hell, Steve, just watching that dude made my fingers ache.

Guess who just said this:

What exactly does OFA think they stand to gain by ridiculing Krugman as a “political rookie,” a hysterical “fanatic” and an “idealogue”?  Do they think they hold so much sway with liberals that they can discredit Krugman and thus neutralize his criticism?

This smacks more of narcissism and personal vendetta than any sound political “strategy.”

OFA apparently used the epithet “Firebagger” which hurt someone’s feelings.

That was fucking awesome!

This surprised me. Have to share:

Over the last few years, government jobs have been awfully consequential in Texas: 47% of all government jobs added in the US between 2007 and 2010 were added in Texas.

The chart shows that Texas employment wasn’t down much at all in these years, as the state lost only 53,000 jobs.  But looming behind that number are large losses in the private sector (down 178,000) and large gains (up 125,000) in government jobs.

Belden Stratford? How very “That Girl!”

Also, this video is wonderful. Plastered it on my FB wall. Thanks, HB!

@Nellcote — The “Texas Miracle” story is actually worse than that.

Yeah, I was just surprised that so many of the jobs were government jobs.

The vid is extremely cool. Will have to send it to my dear old dad, who is a major Brubeck fan.

Thanks!

(I used the Brubeck Take Five as my intro song for a semester when I was a college radio DJ, back in the Ancient Times.)

Yeah, I was just surprised that so many of the jobs were government jobs.

So’s Rick Perry, probably.

Belden Stratford? How very “That Girl!”

When she was in the nursing home I may have stolen a coffee cup from the Belden for her. Don’t tell anyone.

Jazz improvisation on a sitar; I have truly lived a rich and rewarding life after seeing that!
