What does this remind you of?

This is what it reminds me of.

LOL.  The confection at the top is called a “croquembouche” and is a tower of cream puffs decorated with spun sugar.  For the record I think both photos are ravishing.

I was hoping to find a video of the Martha Stewart/Julia Child croquembouche throwdown that took place a few years ago but searches on Martha’s website and YouTube didn’t produce anything.  If anyone has a link to this and wants to put it in comments I’d love to add it to the post.  My recollection is that Martha’s, like Martha herself, had perfect posture ,expertly spun webbing and looked like it should not be touched.  Julia’s, like Julia herself, was slouchy with rather off center webbing and looked eminently eatable.

The first image reminds my of prom night on my home planet.

Then again, so does the other one.

I did actually think about you too, Strange.  Also. ;-)

LOL. I thought Lady Gaga’s outfit was right out of the Jetsons. But the croquembouche works too. :-)

The first pic reminds me of the last time I cleaned the back of the fridge.

The second pic—a Blingee Amy Winehouse.

Whatever, I’d guess it’s nil by mouth all evening in that dress.

Once I saw the spun sugar, I just knew who was beneath the fold.

I love Gaga to bits, but I have to say that Pink stole the show last night. By all accounts, she was singing live through the entire thing.

I would have watched, but neither Mr. Gimme nor I can much stand either Beyonce or Taylor Swift nor much music written, produced and recorded and performed after about 2002.

Well, Mar, I wasn’t sure what they reminded me of, but after seeing this, I know what I’d call them!
