Whiskey for my horses

Looks like the mere fact of Teabag Cosmo Boy’s election will kill health care reform after all. Barney Frank says so. Anthony Weiner is not optimistic. Massive corporate giveaway averted!

I’m sure the insurance companies will now voluntarily roll back preexisting conditions, excisions and other predatory practices. That’s what their stellar stock performance yesterday was all about—they’re just squirreling funds away for the coming epoch of pro-consumer largesse because that’s how they roll.

Anyway, water under the bridge, spilled milk, barn door closed after the horses skedaddled, etc. I just wish there were some other hill worth dying on, some truly populist issue the Dems could use to yank the phony “champion-of-the-little-guy” drape off Senatorfold* Brown and the rest of the GOP beefcake line-up, revealing them in all their glorious, fat-cat protecting nekkidness. Think, think, think.

Oh hullo, what’s this?

Make an independent Consumer Financial Protection Agency a hill to die on? That’ll never work. Chris Dodd is already making noises about dumping it in a bid to secure bipartisan support for the financial reform bill, which he envisions as his signature farewell legislation. Lord knows that’s important.

And besides, with Senator Trucknutz careening towards the Senate chamber, there’s no way to pass a progressive financial reform measure like an independent CFPA. Imagine how the GOP would frame such a debate.

If a timid, corporate-friendly health care reform proposal can become DEATH PANELS and SOCIALISM, an emboldened Palin-Bachmann-Trucknutz troika could surely frame the CFPA as a requirement to brand your ATM password on your forehead like THE MARK OF THE BEAST.

So never mind. I think I’ll just pour this quart of bourbon into this here tub of Häagen-Dazs crème brulée ice cream and spoon the contents down my throat until I find my happy place again. Hey, at least I have a plan.

Looks like you and I found the Barney Frank towel in the ring right around the same time.

After I read that and tossed into the rumper room, I went on a bit of a tear on twitter:

@mitchellreports So glad to hear you and others at MSNBC declaring that the Obama administration is doomed. And John Stewart sez so too!

Ok, when do firebaggers start calling for impeachment or rally for a Dennis Kucinich primary challenge to Obama?

Or better yet! Progressives can join hand-in-hand with Baggers and Birfers, stick up for the We the People and push for Scott Brown 4 Pres!

So move over and be prepared to share that Haagen-Dazs and bourbon.  I’ll bring my own spoon.

Hey, guys, I came up with a way to win!

1)  Have every Democrat retire, and don’t run anyone this November.

2)  Let the Republicans have full control of congress.

3)  Sit back and smugly watch as they fail to get anything done.

4)  Win everything big in 2012*

What if instead of unmasking the already-unclothed pretenders, this only gave rise to more Senatorfolds*?!

Observe the prognostication (and perhaps the apocalypse):

Daily News Haiku: Future Senatorfold

Thanks, Betty!

OMG, Betty, has Wonkette even noticed that Brown is the human personification of TruckNutz?

Did you totally just scoop them on that?

I honestly don’t know, Evan. Don’t recall seeing it, but the connection is pretty obvious, huh?
