With Palin’s Endorsement, Perry Set to Crush Tea Party Favorite for TX Gov Nom

With 3% of the vote tallied in the Texas Republican Gubernatorial primary, TPM reports that sitting Governor Rick Perry holds a commanding lead in the polls at 53%, with Kay Bailey Hutchison at 31% and Tea Party activist Debra Medina at 17%.

Rested and fit following her studied silence on Scott Brown’s Massachusetts Senate run, Facebook Celebrity and nominal Tea Party patroness Sarah Palin endorsed established Pubbie-machine candidate Perry on February 3. Despite taking that slap from the unjotted side of Palin’s hand, Medina had by February 6 closed within four points of Hutchinson, and credibly threatened to pass Hutchinson in the final stretch to a two-way runoff with Perry.

Five days later, Medina’s seemingly irresistible momentum met an unexpectedly immovable object in the form of nominal Tea Party front-man Glenn Beck, who ambushed her on his radio show with accusations of 9-11 Trutherism.

Perry looks like a slam-dunk win in today’s race. Meanwhile, Palin has also endorsed detested Arizona bull-RINO Sen. John McCain’s campaign for re-election, and Glenn Beck is still a confused, insane asshole.

UPDATE: Runoff avoided, Hutchison concedes, incumbent Gov. Perry acts like he was the Tea Party candidate. No word from Medina. Texas remains largest US state with a panhandle.

Insane asshole Beck is both insane and an asshole, but he draws his paycheck from Murdoch and Ailes, who are determined to ensure the teabaggers remain a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican Party. 9-11 wasn’t an inside job, but the hit on Medina was.

The actual import of Sarah’s going RINO every chance she gets, not to mention her seeming antipathy to any other woman in the political arena including those from her own party, may be lost on the public at large; she killed on Leno, and isn’t that the important thing?

I don’t think so, Betty. To my knowledge, she’s only endorsed two candidates who aren’t male RINOs—that Tea Party loon in NY 23 (where TP’ers handed the win to the Dem) and Sean Duffy in Wisconsin. Duffy’s the former “Real World” cast member who hopes to unseat Dem Congressmen David Obey.

So far, Sarah has only been good for incumbent men, RINOs, Liberal Dems, Levi Johnston and Jay Leno.

Otherwise, she’s just cashing the checks and livin’ large, doin’ her Former Half-Governor thing and palling around with the elites.

I think Bachmann wants to be a Palin MiniMe, which might be acceptable terms for Quittarella. But Queen Bee types like that can turn on a dime, which any woman who has spent more than 20 seconds in a corporate environment can attest.
