You say you want a revolution?

I was going to write about this earlier, but forgot…

From Charlie Gibson’s interview with Sarah Palin:

GIBSON: Would you favor putting Georgia and Ukraine in NATO?

PALIN: Ukraine, definitely, yes. Yes, and Georgia.

GIBSON: Because Putin has said he would not tolerate NATO incursion into the Caucasus.

PALIN: Well, you know, the Rose Revolution, the Orange Revolution, those actions have showed us that those democratic nations, I believe, deserve to be in NATO.

It’s fairly obvious by now that Palin knows nothing about the Rose or Orange Revolutions aside from the fact that their names were scribbled on some of the flash cards Steve Schmidt was furiously waving in front of her face before the Gibson interviews (“Georgia = Rose Revolution” and “Ukraine = Orange Revolution”), but what’s funny is that not only did one of the wingnuts’ favorite bogeymen George Soros reportedly help bankroll both revolutions through his Open Society Institute, but the one-word exclamation associated with the Georgian student movement Kmara that essentially led the charge against then-president Eduard Shevardnadze was “Enough!”

Hmmmm, now where have I heard that before?

Incredibly, McCain just said again—this morning!—that the fundamentals of the economy are strong. Unbelievable.

Did he really?  I thought I heard McCaskill, who’s been great lately defending Obama, say that on MSNBC from the other room. I really don’t get their strategies at all.

Kevin,

Thanks for stopping by and talking me off the ledge. I do hope you’re correct. I posted last month looking for more information about PUMAs and why they feel the way they do, but none stopped by.

A month or two ago, I thought that either McCain or Obama would be a dramatic improvement. I can see now (especially after McCain’s reaffirmation this morning that the economy is ‘fundamentally sound,’ and try not to worry) that is not the case.  McCain/Palin would be a disaster.  Obama not only has my vote now, but my active support in recruiting others.

Time to volunteer.

Pardon me, now, while I poke around your blog for a bit.  1st time visit for me.

No problem, Ben.  They’re basically begging for attention from anywhere at this point. Don’t let them get in your head and, most of all, don’t worry about them. If you want a good quick example of what an awesome force they’ll be going forward, check this out ... still at $59 today. They’re a joke. And unfortunately for them, not even a funny one anymore.

I guess McCain didn’t catch Alan Greenphlegm this weekend (on Stephanoupolos) saying the problems in the financial industry are by far the worst he’s ever seen—worst thing in a century and a half.

He trashed McCain’s economic “plan” the other day too.  Said there was no way the country could afford the tax cuts McCain is proposing to give himself and his cronies.  BTW does anyone know why Lindsay Lohan is suddenly a political analyst?  I’m reading in several places that she has been critical of Sarah Palin (so at least she’s got that part straight) and there is a long post of hers over on HuffPo.  Oh wait, it’s on HuffPo.
