Yr Daily Obama Betrayal

Or:  Obummer throws Big Pharma under the bus.  Because he’s basically owned by them, near as I recollect.

Obama is to sign “an Executive Order directing the FDA to take action to help further reduce and prevent drug shortages, protect consumers and prevent price gouging. The White House will also announce the President’s support for bipartisan legislation (S. 296 and H.R. 2245) that will give the FDA new tools to prevent drug shortages,” the White House says.

Which Pro-emo-proggie will lead the pearl clutching brigade this time around?

Not related but worthy of comment:  Since every blog in the country has covered the unfolding “did he or didn’t he and when did he not know anything about it?” Herman Cain sexual harassment story I, for one, have kind of left it alone.  But Josh Marshall is working on a pretty good timeline as events reveal themselves.  Can this be the end of Hermie?

UPDATE

And heeeeere’s who you want on your side in a sexual harassment scandal!  I’m assuming he, maybe, knows of what he speaks?

Worse than Bush! Obama sold us out!

(what is the new “under the bus”?)

I’ll be honest, Cain scares me almost as much as Bachmann. She’s so obviously an idiot, it was a matter of time before she fell down int he polls, and really didn’t have much hope of being elected. His delusions almost make sense to those who aren’t willing or capable of doing the math.

The White House will also announce the President’s support for bipartisan legislation (S. 296 and H.R. 2245) that will give the FDA new tools to prevent drug shortages

Annnnnd, with that dies any Republican support of said bills.

He really should wait for them to pass things then declare his support just by signing them, huh? Might have a better chance of getting something past the TPers.

Spoiler alert: it’s Trump:

You know, you become a leading candidate, you become just a person of prominence, and somebody sues you and they say all sorts of things and perhaps he settled just because he didn’t want to go through the legal fees or he didn’t want to spend a lot of money,” Trump said on Fox News.

Erm, the allegations were made in the 1990s, Donny, old boy.

I’m surprised the Donald didn’t demand to see the birth certificates of the women who accused Cain.

Cain was also given something like 10 days to respond before Politico ran the story.  Did he think it was simply going to go away?  Dude’s effin’ nuts either way.

I can predict the defence already: the Democrats didn’t impeach Clinton in ‘98, ergo the Republicans have a get-out-of-jail-free card for sexual harassment forever.

Well, it didn’t take that long:

You know, I WAS going to say there’s no way the CrierBaggers could clutch their pearls over this. But upon further reflection that just isn’t true, is it?

Did he think it was simply going to go away?

He’s a Republican. What was your question?

I bow to no man (or woman) in my contempt for Donald Trump, but he has a point.  It’s not even “prominence.”  It’s “being rich.”  As others imply above, it’s not the accusation, it’s the cover-up, as always.  Cain should have said, once Politico told him what was up, that “two women sued me because I was rich.  The accusations were baseless but we (or my insurance company) settled to save money.”

Not that it’s unimaginable to me that he DID sexually harass them, mind you.

We have a friend who was Michael Crichton’s atty. and had to deal with this many times.  This whole incident demonstrates, not that Cain is a lecher (although he may be), but that his judgment is skewed.  What a, um, shock.
