It’d be a radical step, but maybe we should amend the Constitution to separate church and state

Pssst! Hey you! Yeah, you, the one cataloguing hate-speech directed at Sotomayor by Fox anchors for beckbusterswatch.blogspot.com.

Ix-nay on etting-lay the epublicans-ray in on the fact that atinos-lay tend to be extremely ocially-say onservative-cay and if the EOP-jay (judges?) would ock-knay it off with the atant-blay acism-ray they could easily eel-pay off enough ispanic-hay upport-say to once again become oliticlly-pay iable-vay.

Owever, it sure would be nice to see the back of this hatemongering ignoramus. (pause) Hay.

New Hampshire on Board with Same Sex Marriage

The New York Times is reporting that New Hampshire Governor John Lynch signed a bill legalizing same sex marriage in New Hamphire this afternoon.  New Hampshire is now the sixth state in the nation recognizing marriage between same sex couples.

Mr. Lynch, who previously supported civil unions but not marriage for gay couples, said in a statement that he had heard “compelling arguments that a separate system is not an equal system.”

“Today,” he said, “we are standing up for the liberties of same-sex couples by making clear that they will receive the same rights, responsibilities — and respect — under New Hampshire law.”

Folks, I think we’re seeing something of a trend here!

Of course a few fundies had to grouse about the inequities:

[M]any of the bill’s opponents believe the language adopted by New Hampshire and several other states does not go far enough because it protects only religious groups and their employees. New Hampshire’s same-sex marriage bill does not exempt photographers or florists, for example, from having to provide services at gay weddings.

Exempt photographers and florists from “having” to provide services?  Most photographers and florists are not that crazy to turn down legitimate work in an economic down cycle but if they want to, I’m not sure how they could be compelled to do it anyway.

But let the fundies grouse.  The rest of us are HAPPY!
